Carien Boshoff

Osteopath

Carien is an Osteopath on the Gold Coast who takes a whole-person, evidence-informed approach to musculoskeletal health, movement and recovery.

She believes that effective healthcare starts with understanding the individual behind the symptoms. Rather than focusing solely on the area of pain, Carien aims to understand the broader factors that may be influencing how a person is feeling and functioning. This may include movement habits, lifestyle factors, physical activity, stress, recovery capacity and overall well-being.

Carien enjoys working with people across all stages of life and values creating a supportive environment where patients feel listened to, understood and actively involved in their care.

Areas of Interest

Carien has a particular interest in:

  • Neck and back pain

  • Persistent and recurrent musculoskeletal pain

  • Sporting and gym-related injuries

  • Women’s health concerns

  • Pregnancy-related musculoskeletal discomfort

  • Digestive and gut-health related presentations

  • Headaches and tension-related symptoms

  • Movement rehabilitation and recovery

  • Functional mobility and whole-body wellbeing

She enjoys helping people better understand their bodies and supporting them in returning to the activities that are important to them, whether that involves sport, work, parenting, exercise or simply feeling more comfortable in everyday life.

Treatment Approach

Carien’s treatment approach combines hands-on osteopathic care with movement-based rehabilitation, education and practical self-management strategies.

Her aim is not only to help improve symptoms where appropriate, but also to support long-term movement confidence, resilience and physical wellbeing.

Treatment may include:

  • Hands-on osteopathic treatment

  • Soft tissue and myofascial techniques

  • Joint mobilisation and articulation

  • Movement and mobility assessment

  • Exercise rehabilitation

  • Postural and ergonomic guidance

  • Education around recovery and load management

  • Lifestyle and well-being considerations where relevant

Carien recognises that no two people experience pain or recovery in exactly the same way. She works collaboratively with patients to develop individualised management plans that align with their goals, preferences and lifestyle.

A Whole-Body Perspective

One of the reasons Carien was drawn to osteopathy is its recognition that the body functions as an interconnected system.

Pain or dysfunction in one area can often be influenced by factors elsewhere in the body, and recovery is rarely about addressing symptoms alone.

Her clinical approach reflects this broader perspective, combining hands-on care with movement, education and a deeper understanding of the factors that may contribute to musculoskeletal health.

Outside the Clinic

Outside of the clinic, Carien enjoys spending time outdoors, staying active, exploring the Gold Coast lifestyle and continuing to expand her knowledge through ongoing professional development and learning.

She values movement as an important part of overall health and enjoys helping others find sustainable ways to move well, feel confident and support their long-term wellbeing.

Carien is available for appointments at Integrated Sports and Spinal Clinic on the Gold Coast.
